Michael grew up in Bedford and is an alumni of the Bedford Minor Hockey Association. He moved to Moncton at an early age and had a successful time with the U18AAA Moncton Flyers which was capped off by winning the provincials, league MVP, top scorer, and top scorer at Atlantics in his last year. He also played hockey for Team New Brunswick at the 2015 Canada Games. After a bad stretch of injuries he decided to go to St.FX, forego junior hockey, and pursue his passion for the game in other areas. During his time at St.FX he graduated with a BBA in Finance and Sports Management and coached with the U15 Major Novas. Michael has also coached at the U16AAA level and is currently a scout for the Amherst Ramblers Jr. A.
